    Statutes authorize the use of P3s on certain Port Authority projects and allow the South Carolina Department of Transportation to enter into P3s for highway projects. Additionally, statute allows the state to utilize the “most advantageous” procurement method to complete construction projects.

  • Workforce Development Incentives

    readySC – A program that provides recruiting and training assistance to companies that are expanding or looking to move to South Carolina. The program works with the state’s 16 technical colleges to develop a training curriculum to meet the company’s workforce needs. There is no cost to the company. In order to qualify, the projected jobs created must be permanent, employee pay must be competitive for the area, a benefits package must include health insurance, and the number of jobs created must be sufficient enought for the program to provide training in a cost effective manner.

    Apprenticeship Carolina Program – Eligible businesses can receive a tax credit of $1,000 for each registered apprentice employed for at least seven months during each year of an apprentice’s program, for up to four years of such a program. Construction technologies is a targeted industry cluster of the program. Professional trade associations are eligible to sponsor apprenticeship programs and therefore, eligible to receive a tax credit as well.
